I know how to lose weight. I know my body to be willing if I treat it right. In theory it's simply eating less an exercising more. In practice there are many components or tricks to to make this an easy, successful endeavor. I do not wish to be perpetually at odds with myself. My goal is to get from too tight size 12 jeans to too loose size 10s and possibly some 8s. I'm approximately 175 now. At 155 I fit nicely into 10s and 145 would put me into 8s. Let's call 145 my goal weight. Odd though it may seem but I'm not entirely certain that my weight actually is 175 right now. I don't intend to go anywhere near the scale until I'm definitely less than 170 so I don't get discouraged.
Ten years ago I went from 187 to155 in a period of about six months. I was 22 and overweight my whole life. I had to see if it was possible for me to be like a regular person. And it was. I kept it off until about 4 years ago my emotional homeostasis got thrown off by my fixation on a potential love interest. I stayed home and ate straight butter for several months. 7 pounds Then when that potential love interest became an ex-friend. 4 more. Then a couple of years in low paying jobs for not very nice people in isolating atmospheres. 9 more easy.
So here I am. There are a lots of everyday details that will create success but it's what's going on in my heart and head that is what will make all this happen. I need to take a new interest in my future, in how much love I have in my life, in how much fun stuff I get to do. To make myself new again I need to focus on carving out a life just for myself. Believe in yourself and you can do what you really want.
Details: First- I need to take out "difficult" foods, namely cheese and wheat. They create some kind of belly bloat and cravings for ever more. It takes about three days to get it out of my system so I feel neutral. I can maintain a set weight and have moderate amounts of these things in my diet but I've never been able to lose it- not even running 30 miles a week. Also, this should be obvious, I'll be eating lots of veggies, fruits, fish, etc. In order that I don't feel deprived I'll have the occasional sweet thing but never a grilled cheese sandwich
With that, I am on my merry way to renewal and cute jeans!
